Position Summary | The Department of Psychology at the University of Regina is seeking applications for a tenure-track position in Clinical Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is focused primarily on teaching and clinical supervision. Anticipated date of commencement is July 1, 2023, depending on the availability of the successful candidate. Duties of the successful candidate will include: teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, clinical supervision, honours and graduate thesis supervision, public and administrative service, including participation in departmental activities, and research. Teaching, clinical supervision and administrative service are the priority responsibilities for this position, while research constitutes a smaller portion of overall responsibilities. The successful candidate will be expected to teach or otherwise contribute to instruction of graduate level clinical assessment courses. The University of Regina’s Strategic Plan 2020-2025 (kahkiyaw kiwâhkômâkaninawak – All Our Relations) emphasizes Well-being and Belonging as a strategic priority, which includes prioritizing and supporting research in mental health. The program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina is committed to the scientist-practitioner model and is accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association. The Psychology Department has its own state-of-the-art Psychology Training Clinic for students enrolled in our Clinical programs. The Department maintains good relations with a number of health care, research, and other educational facilities both within Regina and throughout the province. |
Position Requirements | Applicants should have a PhD in Clinical Psychology from a CPA- or APA-accredited program (or be in a position to complete all Ph.D. requirements no later than six months from the date of appointment). Also, applicants should be registered as a Psychologist in Saskatchewan or apply for provisional registration as soon as possible after they are hired. The successful candidate should show clear promise of excellence in teaching and clinical work. |
