The Public Safety Personnel Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) team is located at the University of Regina and part of the Canadian Institute of Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT) funded by Public Safety Canada. The PSPNET team is led by Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos, one of Canada’s foremost leaders on ICBT. The team consists of both clinicians and researchers who are developing, implementing and evaluating ICBT to help current and former public safety personnel (PSP) to improve their mental health and wellbeing. ICBT typically begins with an online and telephone screening. ICBT itself involves patients reviewing psychoeducational materials over the internet and therapists providing support and directing therapeutic activities via secure messaging and phone calls.

The research assistant will work with the PSPNET team. The assistant will be involved in assisting with the delivery of ICBT (e.g., advertising ICBT, screening for ICBT) as well as research related to ICBT (e.g., preparation of ethics applications, recruitment and follow-up with participants, data collection, data entry, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, write-up of results for dissemination, creation of psychoeducational materials using various methods, organization of research materials, literature reviews, project management) and other related responsibilities. This job is ideal for the graduate who has recently completed an honours degree and is seeking experience in research and clinical work that would prepare the student for future graduate work or applied jobs. Supervision and Training will be provided in this position.

L’équipe de la Thérapie cognitive comportementale sur Internet pour le personnel de la sécurité publique (PSPNET) est située à l’Université de Regina et fait partie de l’Institut canadien de recherche et de traitement en sécurité publique (ICRTSP), financé par Sécurité publique Canada. L’équipe du PSPNET est dirigée par la Dre Heather Hadjistavropoulos, une des meilleures spécialistes en TCCI au Canada. L’équipe est composée de cliniciens et de chercheurs qui développent, mettent en œuvre et évaluent la TCCI, afin d’aider les membres actuels et anciens du personnel de la sécurité publique (PSP) à améliorer leur santé mentale et leur bien-être. En général, la TCCI commence par une évaluation en ligne et une entrevue téléphonique. La TCCI proprement dite demande aux patients de revoir du matériel psychoéducatif sur Internet, et des thérapeutes leur fournissent du soutien et dirigent des activités thérapeutiques par le biais de messages et d’appels téléphoniques sécurisés.

L’adjointe ou l’adjoint à la recherche travaillera au sein de l’équipe du PSPNET, et participera à l’offre de la TCCI (p. ex., promouvoir la TCCI, faire passer un test de dépistage pour la TCCI) , à la recherche portant sur la TCCI (p. ex., déposer les demandes auprès des comités d’éthique, recruter et suivre les participants, recueillir des données, saisir des données, analyser les données qualitatives et quantitatives, préparer les comptes rendus des résultats pour diffusion, créer du matériel psychoéducatif à l’aide de diverses méthodes, organiser le matériel de recherche, faire la revue bibliographique, et gérer le projet), ainsi qu’à d’autres responsabilités connexes. Cet emploi est idéal pour un étudiant ou une étudiante ayant récemment obtenu un baccalauréat spécialisé, qui souhaite faire de la recherche et du travail clinique en préparation vers des études supérieures ou des emplois dans le domaine. Ce poste offre une supervision et de la formation.

Position Requirements

a) Completed BA Honours in Psychology;

b) Must have strong communication skills (oral and written);

c) Fluent in French (oral and written). Proficient in English (oral and written);

d) Must have strong interpersonal skills;

e) Must have strong organizational skills;

f) Knowledge of cognitive behaviour therapy, depression and anxiety, ethics, assessment;

g) Advanced computer skills preferred (e.g., Word, Excel, web page management, social media);

h) Knowledge of research design & ethics applications;

i) Experience with social media (twitter, instagram, Facebook);

j) Experience with recruitment of participants and data collection within the area of mental health;

k) Knowledge of SPSS, reference management;

l) Experience with qualitative analysis preferred;

m) Project management experience an asset;

(g) Posséder de grandes compétences informatiques est une priorité (p. ex., Word, Excel, éditeur de page Web, réseaux sociaux) ;

(h) Avoir acquis des connaissances en conception de recherche et sur le processus de demandes auprès des comités d’éthique ;

(i) Avoir de l’expérience avec les réseaux sociaux (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) ;

(j) Avoir de l’expérience en recrutement de participants et en collecte de données dans le domaine de la santé mentale ;

(k) Être familier avec le logiciel de statistique SPSS, et le logiciel de gestion de références bibliographiques ;

(l) Avoir une expérience en analyse qualitative est un atout ;

(m) Avoir une expérience en gestion de projet est un avantage.

This position will be full-time (Monday to Friday), 40 hours a week from June 1, 2023 to March 31, 2025 with the possibility of extension, depending on funds.
