Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising lab research and administrative activities. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, as well as the availability to supervise others. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various research projects taking place in the AIBL Lab (e.g., participant recruitment and scheduling, managing research staff), as well as be responsible for lab administration, such as initiating knowledge translation activities (e.g., creating infographics, managing webpages), purchasing goods and services (e.g, completing requisitions, administering staff and student stipends and pay), and overseeing scheduling and coordination of lab staff, students, and volunteers, among other research and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will also be given the opportunity to contribute to research activities (e.g., conducting literature reviews, assisting with data cleaning and analysis using SPSS, manuscript preparation and publications, delivering academic conference presentations); as such, the position is an excellent opportunity for individuals with an interest in research and/or graduate studies.
Position Requirements
Education, Training, and Experience:
• An undergraduate degree in psychology and one to two years of related experience is required; or
• A graduate degree in psychology and one to two years of related experience is an asset; or · An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
• Having taken an undergraduate or graduate course in psychological research methods is an asset.
Demonstrated Knowledge or Experience with:
• Coordinating research activities;
• Supervision and management of staff and/or students; or,
• Assisting in the supervision and management of research staff and/or students; · Contributing to research activities associated with all life stages of a research project (e.g., conducting literature reviews, assisting with data cleaning and analysis using SPSS, manuscript preparation and publications, delivering academic conference presentations);
• Understanding of various methods used in psychological research;
• Conducting administrative and operational activities (e.g., record keeping, budget management/administration, scheduling).
Demonstrated Ability to:
• Work independently with minimal supervision;
• Contribute to scientific knowledge (i.e., conference presentations, peer-reviewed journal articles);
• Work effectively and maintain good relationships within a team environment.
Demonstrated Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral);
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Analytic, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Physical Demands
Pay Grade As Per CUPE 5791 Research
Salary Range $40,000 Annually + Benefits. As per CUPE 5791 Research Collective Agreement
