Position Summary
Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Student Recruitment & Marketing, the primary responsibility of this position is to recruit prospective students to the University of Regina. This position works with campus partners, high schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations and other members of the Student Recruitment team to encourage prospective students to apply to the University of Regina and for key influencers to keep the university top of mind when working with students.

This individual will act as a primary contact and resource for prospective domestic students and others involved in the recruitment of these students. The incumbent will participate in student recruitment.

Position Tasks:

  • Travel to events in and out of province to promote the University of Regina and recruit students to the University of Regina through a broad range of activities including in-school presentations, attending education and career fairs, SUTIL events, school/community events, advising session with students and parents, counsellor workshops and other prospective student events.
  • Participate in virtual recruitment efforts including online events, presentations, workshops, student appointments, and other prospective student support.
  • Prepare and maintain extensive recruitment records of external and prospective student contacts.
  • Conduct research on recruitment trends and best practices.
  • Provide reports on various recruitment initiatives.
  • Communicate extensively and develop relationships with prospective students, families, schools and counsellors utilizing email, phone, online chats, mail and fax methods of communication.
  • Draft correspondence (electronic and paper) for prospective students.
  • Assist in the development of recruitment materials for the University of Regina. This includes print publications, online communications, presentations, information packages, etc.).
  • Communicate frequently with prospective students (via email and calling campaigns) and enter prospect data into the university systems.
  • Conduct on-campus advising appointments with students.
  • Assist in the development of relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the University.
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment events such as campus tours, conferences and school group tours
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum of one year experience related to the duties outlined. A combination of education and experience may be considered;
  • Knowledge of University admission requirements, programs, services and general university structure with an understanding of the admission and application process for all programs, as well as knowledge of recruitment and marketing practices in Canada;
  • Experience with and knowledge of recruitment practices is preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to present to both large and small groups;
  • Demonstrates the values of the University while working in an independent setting;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills are required (advanced experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom Video Conferencing);
  • Direct experience working with complex database systems such as: Banner, UR Docs, ezRecruit is an asset;
  • Ability to handle multiple problems, prioritize and organize competing demands;
  • Capable of making independent decisions and exercising mature judgment/initiative in handling work assignments;
  • Able to carry, lift and set up small and large display units, audio-visual equipment and deliver boxes of promotional material;
  • Must have a valid driver’s license;
  • Extensive travel within Canada is required.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift heavy boxes.
Pay Grade APT 3
Salary Range $58,524 - $79,004 Annually
Status Permanent
Work Hours
Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, however frequent irregular work hours are required in this position including evening and weekend hours.
