Position Summary
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Faculty Administrator, this position is responsible for various financial and payroll duties related to the day-to-day operation of the Hill and Levene Schools of Business, including handling reimbursement claims, processing invoices and entering requisitions, managing petty cash payments, setting up student employees and others on payroll, assisting with office space and facilities access and management, administrative support for the Hill Legacy Program, providing support to the Faculty Administrator and other related duties.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring financial matters are handled confidentially and in a timely manner, including processing expense claims and invoices, entering requisitions and invoices, and tracking annual travel budgets for faculty members;
  • Ensuring student research assistants, student teaching assistants, etc. are entered into the payroll system;
  • Providing administrative support for the Hill Legacy Program;
  • Working with Faculty Administrator to ensure space and equipment needs are met;
  • Working with a Financial Analyst on financial processing and data collection for reporting purposes;
  • Maintaining files on financial records, contracts with suppliers, and information on equipment and supplies; and
  • Other financial duties as required.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum of successful completion of a recognized business course with three years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties specified;
  • Completion of at least some undergraduate university courses is preferred;
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
  • Experience using online financial accounting programs is required (experience using FAST is considered an asset);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable and payroll procedures is required with specific knowledge of U of R financial, procurement and payroll processes being considered an asset;
  • Proficient with interpretation of policy and collective agreements as it pertains to student and research support posting, selection and payroll entitlements;
  • Experience in the day-to-day managing of facility and office space issues is considered an asset;
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as work as part of a team;
  • Must have the ability to be tactful and develop good working relationships with a variety of faculty and staff is necessary; and
  • Strong attention to detail is required.

Salary Range $42,533.40 - $57,457.40 annually
Status Permanent

8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday (as per CUPE 5791, Operational Services).
