Position Summary
SW 405 – Social Work with Aboriginal Peoples
This course investigates theory and practices for social workers to support Indigenous individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings. The course explores history of oppression experienced by Indigenous peoples by government policies. Emphasis is placed on individual self-determination, cultural safety, Indigenous self-governance and societal decolonization.
Position Requirements
MSW plus experience related to course content.

This course will be taught Blended Delivery (some portions are online (async) AND there will be Remote Delivery (sync) classes).

This course is currently scheduled for Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. – the Instructor will select 5 dates to have 3 hour Remote Delivery Classes (via Zoom) with the students within the days/times listed.
The delivery method, days and times are subject to change.
The fall term is September 4 – December 6, 2024 (excluding exams)
