Position Summary | SW 405 – Social Work with Aboriginal Peoples This course investigates theory and practices for social workers to support Indigenous individuals, families and communities in a variety of settings. The course explores history of oppression experienced by Indigenous peoples by government policies. Emphasis is placed on individual self-determination, cultural safety, Indigenous self-governance and societal decolonization. |

Work Hours | This course will be taught Blended Delivery (some portions are online (async) AND there will be Remote Delivery (sync) classes). This course is currently scheduled for Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. – 2:15 p.m. – the Instructor will select 5 dates to have 3 hour Remote Delivery Classes (via Zoom) with the students within the days/times listed. The delivery method, days and times are subject to change. The fall term is September 4 – December 6, 2024 (excluding exams) |
