Position Summary | The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina is seeking a full-time, permanent Clinical Instructor: Field Education Coordinator specific to the Bachelor of Social Work Field Education Program. With campuses in both Regina and Saskatoon, the successful candidate will choose to be based on either campus. The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples. Informed by the principles of Indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed. It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential. Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Work and working closely in collaboration with the Associate Dean-Undergraduate, the Clinical Instructor: Field Education Coordinator is responsible for provincial community engagement in the development, coordination and evaluation of undergraduate field education. Responsibilities include field placement identification, and monitoring and auditing of appropriate placement capacity to ensure quality and evaluation of the student learning experience. Duties further include but are not limited to: development of field education best practices and policy; coordination, administration and monitoring of student learning in practicum settings; facilitation of student learning; teaching field education courses; field supervision through training and supporting of agency supervisors and field liaisons; and providing feedback, consultation, and input in the annual evaluation of the Practicum Placement Coordinators located in Regina and Saskatoon. |
Position Requirements | Appointment will be at the Clinical Instructor Level lI or III, depending on qualifications. Minimum qualifications include a graduate social work degree (MSW), field education experience in social work at the university or college level, relevant human service teaching and practice experience, managerial and/or administrative experience, and active registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (or equivalent from another jurisdiction). Must possess valid driver’s license to travel to Agencies within the Province. Collaborative and consultative work experience within post-secondary education is an asset. |
