Position Summary
This position will provide comprehensive technical support to a globally distributed research team, develop and maintain a robust communications infrastructure, and support the local Regina team with technical issues at various institutions, including universities and health authorities. The specialist will also assist in developing project data management and security plans, ensuring OCAP compliance and secure data storage. Additionally, this role will handle website updates, coordinate with the website management company, and develop infrastructure for webinars.

Position Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support, data management, and communications infrastructure development.
  • Strong knowledge of data security best practices and compliance with OCAP principles.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience with project management and the development of data management plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support a diverse and globally distributed team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in relevant IT and data management fields (e.g., CompTIA, CISSP, PMP).
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous data sovereignty principles.
  • Familiarity with the technological landscape of universities and health authorities.
  • Experience with cloud storage solutions and collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, etc.
  • Experience with website management and webinar software.
