Position Summary
We are seeking to fill the position of Research Assistant/Personal Trainer in the Anxiety and Illness Behaviours Lab at the University of Regina (www.aibl.ca). The overall role of this position is to assist research participants in completing exercise which will comprise of stationary cycling, resistance training, or treadmill walking. The participants will complete three 60-minute sessions of exercise per week. Each session will comprise of warm-up, exercise according to a standardized protocol, and a cool-down period/light stretch. 
 
 The AIBL has established safety procedures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection and transmission. Personal trainers will be required to maintain social distancing of 2 meters from participants at all times. Personal trainers will be provided with masks and gloves for use throughout sessions. Participants and personal trainers will be educated on COVID-19 symptom monitoring and advised not to attend sessions if they have symptoms or may have been exposed to COVID-19.
 
The personal trainer will be assigned the following responsibilities:
 -Ensuring fitness equipment is clean and in good working order, including following COVID-19 disinfection procedures
-Ensuring participants warm up and stretch properly
-Monitoring the heart rate and performance of the participants in order to ensure level of effort and intensity of exercise
-Ensuring participants are free of injury which may be worsened by physical activity

Must have Certified Personal Training certification

Salary Range $16.75 plus vacation pay (Negotiable)
