Position Summary
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to assist with the following research tasks focusing on developing decision-support simulation tools for mobile-robotic warehouse automation:
  • Research literature review on mobile-robotic warehouse automation (e.g., Amazon Kiva systems), swarm robotics, automatic fulfillment, multi-agent path findings;
  • Support in upgrading and improving existing decision-support simulation tools (with Java platform);
  • Case study research including data analysis, technical program summaries, and strategy design; and,
  • Technical report and manuscript editing and formatting, assistant in conference papers and technical reports.
Position Requirements
Position Requirements:
Applications are required to have engineering background with a preference for logistics, supply chain, transportation, software, computer science, mathematics or related discipline, and have:
  • Interests in big data processing and robotic systems;
  • Proficient skills in Java programming languages;
  • Work remote and complete tasks in a timely manner; and,
  • Experience in one or more of the following topics:
    • (1) course learning or project experience in warehouse and logistics areas
    • (2) Java project development
    • (3) optimizations and modeling
